Frequently Asked Questions
GeneralTechnical QuestionsPricing & PaymentsTravel & On-Site VisitsRepairs & DiagnosticsBookings & SchedulingService & Availability
Can you update my software?
Yes. We perform software OS 2.2, ADAS 3.1.1, and other necessary configurations depending on the vehicle’s state.
Why does my Ocean "brick" or stop responding?
The Fisker Ocean can become unresponsive (“bricked”) primarily due to software faults combined with low-voltage (12V) system issues. In short:
Software update failures or crashes can interrupt critical vehicle modules
12V battery voltage drops prevent ECUs from waking or completing proper boot sequences
Module communication errors can lock the vehicle into a non-responsive state
Leaving devices connected to the OBD port can backfeed power, disrupt CAN communication, or damage the vehicle gateway, leading to network failures
In some cases, water intrusion or hardware faults further exacerbate the issue
When these conditions occur, the vehicle cannot properly initialize, leaving it unable to start, unlock, or respond — even though the high-voltage battery may be fully functional.
Do you fix moisture or connector issues?
Yes. We do address moisture and connector-related issues and can also perform preventative maintenance to help reduce the likelihood of these problems occurring in the future.
For vehicles already experiencing this issue, the proper repair is connector replacement. However, we want to be transparent — we have seen replacement connectors fail again due to:
Their exterior mounting location
Part quality variations
Improper installation, including pin seating or seal placement
Because of this, we offer multiple repair paths depending on your preference and the condition of the vehicle:
Connector replacement (direct replacement using proper sealing and installation techniques)
Rewiring / hardwiring the connection, which is ultimately the most reliable and safest long-term solution
What is ADAS 3.1.1, will this fix all my issues?
ADAS 3.1.1 is a driver-assistance software update for the Fisker Ocean that focuses specifically on improving Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) performance. This includes refinements to how the vehicle interprets sensor data and delivers assisted-driving features.
What ADAS 3.1.1 is designed to improve
Depending on vehicle condition and configuration, the update will address:
Improved lane-keeping behavior
Better FCM consistency
Reduced false alerts or unexpected disengagements
Refinements to camera and radar processing
General stability and calibration improvements within the ADAS system
It is primarily a software optimization and refinement update, not a full system overhaul.
⚠️ Important Disclaimer
ADAS 3.1.1 is not a cure-all update.
Software updates cannot correct physical defects, damaged wiring, water intrusion, failed ECUs, or improper prior repairs. Results vary by vehicle condition, prior software state, and hardware health.
While ADAS 3.1.1 may improve specific driver-assistance behaviors, it does not guarantee resolution of all vehicle concerns, nor does it restore functionality caused by unrelated system failures.
Bottom Line
ADAS 3.1.1 improves ADAS behavior — nothing more, nothing less
It can help when ADAS-related complaints are software-based
It will not fix every issue on the vehicle
A proper diagnostic evaluation is always recommended before updates
If you’d like, we can help determine whether ADAS 3.1.1 is appropriate for your vehicle or if other issues should be addressed first.
